    Electric Propulsion & Solar Cruising – The Future is Now

    Wednesday Feb 23, 2022 at 7:00pm EST in the U.S. (4:00pm PST)

    This panel of designers, builders and owners will discuss the concepts of “electric boating” versus “solar boating”, and then we’ll leap into the fast-approaching next phase of electric propulsion — solar cruising (cruising with unlimited range relying only on solar charging and electric power). We’ll look closely at two boats that cruise with unlimited range powered only by the sun and never plugging in (the future is now).

    Tom Robinson is setting out to become the youngest person to row across the Pacific Ocean. He also happens to be doing it in a wooden boat that he designed and built himself.

    Ken spent 20+ years traveling around SE Asia, specifically focusing on the coast of Vietnam, exploring the world of traditional wooden boat building. We’ll get a close up look at a myriad of fascinating traditional vessels and how they are still being used today.

    Opening Night

    Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 at 7:00pm EST in the U.S.

    Mix your favorite cocktail, or brew a good cuppa jo, and join the crew as we celebrate the opening of the 2022 Worldwide Classic Boat Show.  We’ll have our traditional opening margarita in-hand to kick-off the Show, and we’ll give you an insider’s tour of the website and what’s happening at the Show this week.

    Off Center Harborita Recipe:

    • Pour a 50/50 blend of Hornitos Reposado tequila (or other smooth tequila – NOT Jose Cuervo!) and Simply Limeade (Newman’s Own Limeade is a good substitue).
    • Put in Bonne Maman jam jar (or other jar with lid) and shake wildly 40 times.
    • Sit back and enjoy the Show.
