Love watching this Trumpy pass as she heads South and North on the AICW in Virginia. Of all the Trumpys, this one is my favorite. Her stern just sets her off to the days of the older ocean liners. I like her round stern much better than the duck tail sterns on some of the other Trumpys. She is a show stopper for her time.
Always in joyed seeing this Trumpy motor yacht passing in the fall and spring of the year while headed North and South on the AICW in Virginia. She was then named the SS SOPHIE. A little different design than the other Trumpy houseboats. Additional pictures of her underway can be seen in Flickr under my name. I remember years ago at St Michaels during a Antique Classic Boat Festival, the SS SOPHIE came into a confined area near the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum docks and did a turn around to give everyone a good look at an old wooden boat...
I grew up with Chris-Crafts that my father owned. I loved the smell varnish and the finished results. People seemed to love working their boats back in the fifties and sixties. I have always loved this style of the Chris-Craft and to me, boats today do not compare. She is a great looking vessel.
Pete, this is first time I have seen video, excellent. The Riptide, I like the way she cuts trough the water so easily. I can see how she is so efficient on fuel. That would be hard to beat by any boat. Anyway your work and determination shows, she looks great.
