20' Ocean Pointer Outboard Boat (2013) - WOODSTOCK

Woodstock is an Ocean Pointer, designed by David Stimson. His yard provided the plans together with a book called “How to build an Ocean Pointer”. The book provided great descriptions of each major stage of construction and the boat came together over a period of around 5 years. The hull was planked in western red cedar with mahogany for the coaming and transom, and oregon for the gunwales. It was launched in 2013 and has been used a lot over the last nine years.
I understand the concept design was based on older classic lobster boats from Maine and the more recent West Pointer, by Alton Wallace. Once the boat was completed, I could fully appreciate the characteristic shape and lines. The Ocean Pointer is ideal for our use on Lake Macquarie, very stable at anchor with passengers on board, and great fun to cruise or blast away some cobwebs.
