Owner’s Description
WHITE LADY is the last boat built by Norman Hodgdon who passed away halfway through her construction. Mr Hodgdon is well remembered for his work particularly ARIMENTA a 33-foot auxiliary ketch designed by L. Francis Herreshoff and built in 1954 by Mr. Hodgdon.WHITE LADY is a classic 27-ft carvel plank mahogany on white oak frames skeg – built bass boat with the undeniable lines of a working lobster boat. As the third owner I carried out the first extensive restoration at The Apprenticeshop in Rockland Maine. Prior to that Restoration in 2012 maintenance and other projects as needed were completed at Riverside Boat Company by the renowned builder Paul Bryant. Over the winter of 2020 WHITE LADY received her third engine and this time her first ever diesel, a YANMAR 4JH3 DTE. What made this repower uniquely special was WHITE LADY’s original fuel tank is monel and only minor modifications had to be made. The rest of the repower also went very well (thank you Joseph Lowell and Even Keel Marine ~ The Boatshop Yarmouth, Maine) and in her first year with the diesel she logged 170 hours out of Christmas Cove Maine.
