  • Owner’s Description

    Tuffy is the 304th, of about 400, Nordica 16s built. I bought her from George Essin in the fall of 2019. I fell in love with her hull shape when George found her in Washington and brought her to our local sailing lake several years ago. When I heard he had her for sale I had to buy her.

    The Nordica 16 is based on a production boat built in Europe that was based on the Linaes dinghy, built by Danish boatbuilder Ole Jensen as early as the 1820s. The Nordica 16s hull is pretty much a Linaes dinghy with a full, molded in, ballast keel added.

      Svend Billesbølle of Denmark circumnavigated in a 18 foot Lynaes boat in the late 1980’ies. They are very sea worth.
