Per Collins Dictionary, this craft meets the definition of BOAT—a small vessel propelled by oars, paddle, sails or motor for travelling, transporting goods, etc…..
This SUP was built from a kit consisting of 3mm Okume plywood for deck, sides, hull and internal framing. This is my first nautical woodwork project since retiring, and I was inspired to add some Pacific Northwest First Nations art, Haida Raven, to compliment the beautiful deck wood grain / flow lines.
Most use is on the Tualatin River which flows through my hometown of Tigard, OR. But there have been several ventures to the salt waters of Puget Sound in WA state.
The SUP tracks straight and is very stable.
