Owner’s Description
Starlight is the 23rd Concordia Yawl sold by the Concordia Company. Her first owners had three children and ordered her for delivery in 1954 with the unusual configuration of a Concordia berth to starboard and instead of the same matching berth on the opposite side asked for upper and lower berths to port. Along with the two pipe berths forward she comfortably sleeps five. We have kept her very original with a minimum of added electronics or modern sail handling, she even still has her gasoline engine that we much prefer to the noise and smell of a diesel in the cabin. The old engine has proved adequate for us because we hardly ever need to steam long distances and also often sail on and off her mooring, rarely using the engine unless the batteries need a good charge. She has been in our family for over thirty years and is sailed in and around Penobscot Bay where I do the bulk of my photographic work for the Calendar of Wooden Boats.Already a member?
