1987 Alan Pape custom steel cutter based on a SteelMaid ketch design for a Mr. Stewart. We are the third owners and have only partial design documentation. She of a rather older and classic design with a cutaway full keel. He keel voids and under sole spaces are used for tankage and storage. She is appointed with a Hershoff style interior, mahogany wood work and white walls and ceiling.
Heads use Lavac toilets. The galley uses a Taylors paraffin cooker, the aft cabin has a Taylors paraffin bulkhead heater. There is also an Espar for the saloon/galley.
Below is a picture as we bought her, in white, later we changed her color to yellow, because we find yellow a happy color. She was manufactured by CMC in Cornwalls, UK. She has crossed the Atlantic 3 times, been North to Labrador and South to Grenada (possibly Venezuela).
We are a retired couple who live aboard in the Eastern Caribbean November to June. Hurricane season we spend in Newfoundland where we have a cabin and a 1985 33’ steel cutter by Designed by Ted Brewer. Although we have been aboard in the States for nearly 2 years due covid, hence the “well lived aboard” look of the interior. Its a tough life.
