59' Herreshoff NY-40 Class Yawl (1926) - RUGOSA II

Halsey Herreshoff gave this yacht a new life after he acquired her some 40 years ago. In 2001, he sailed her across the pond and raced (and won) in the Americas Cup Jubilee, then cruised north to Scandinavia and brought her back to Bristol on her own bottom. New York 40s are unusually roomy but also unusually fast. And good looking as well—a supreme achievement by Halsey’s grandfather, N.G. Herreshoff.
