Owner’s Description
Bateka Dinghy, built in 1954 as tender to the Concordia Yawl Skye, Abeking & Rasmussen no. 4981. She was separated from Skye and hide in a barn in Maine for many years until we found her and brought her to the Pacific Northwest to be restored. She came west on the trailer of the Pocock Racing Shell Company along with 10 eight-oared racing shells. There is a hole in her forward seat which appears to be for a mast but there is no other accommodation for a sailing rig. It was drilled to qualify her as a sailing dinghy because the import duty on a rowing dinghy was higher.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
