1964 Triangle Marine motorsailer. Triangle Marine was started by Charlie Angle a sailor who raced out of the Rochester NY Yacht Club. He designed a number of boats but this boat is built on the hull of his center cockpit, centerboard boat. Very unusual for the time. Charlie was a sailor and we see the FINISTERRE (S&S) design had an influence. Also I note the Tartan 27 hull to be very similar. This boat is a motorsailer version of the center cockpit boat. It does not have a centerboard. Currently it has a Perkins 4-108 engine. Our guess is it originally had a grey gas engine. Triangle marine operated from maybe 1960-1969? The hulls were made by Grampian marine in Canada to specifications then shipped to Rochester to be finished out. In later years some boats were sold under the US yacht name. The hull is solid fiberglass, Decks are fiberglass with 3/4 plywood core. The toe rail is teak, interior is teak laminated ply or mahogany laminated ply. No fiberglass pan. Everything is accessible. Pilothouse is plywood with fiberglass cloth over. Inside steering only.
