Owner’s Description
She and two others inaugurated the 19-meter class in 1911. They raced together for only three years before World War I put a stop to it and MARIQUITA was moved to neutral Norway for the duration. She returned afterwards, but before the next war she’d been diminished to a mud-berthed houseboat and remained such for the next half century. Sold in 1991 to a more appreciative and wealthier owner, she emerged in 2005 fully restored to race once again, this time mostly in Mediterranean regattas out of ports such as Cannes and St. Tropez.Already a member?
