Mandarin, Lion class hull number 727, was designed in 1949 and built of solid teak in 1960. In the family for the past 33 years, she is still a fast racer and comfortable cruiser . After a thorough reconditioning and installation of an electric auxiliary she is ready for a run to her 2060 celebration!
A real head turner !!

I just noticed that you have a 12.5 kw/72v motor. How do you like it for power? I would like to hear all you know about it. You can reach me at ravenwarrior64@gmail.com. Thank you.
Beautiful boat to see. I have the same one built in 59 and in the process of restoring her. I am also in the process of putting in a 72v 350amp 12.5 kw motor. Her name I was told was Lion , or was called Lion by previous owner, I am thinking about naming her RavenDancer sense I am a southeast Alaska native and feel that it will fit her well. Thank you for sharing your photos. I will post pictures of mine when she is finished.
Lovely vessel! We met a sister Lion Class sloop on Cocos Keeling Island in the Indian Ocean many years ago – she had completed a world circumnavigation – such a capable and gorgeous boat!
