Lady Day(formerly Silver Thread for Dr Britt of Blue Hill) is a lobster cruiser built and designed in 1978 by my grandfather, Arno Day. With the help of many friends I was able to get her floating again after being out of the water for several years. Not having grown up immersed in boat building, at 54 and with 3 summers under my belt, I am learning as I go. And many thanks go to several people who helped me(one being Maynard Bray who I have known almost my whole life), and hopefully will continue to help me, along the way.

She is gorgeous…and beautifully scaled for such a compact boat! I have a 26′ Sisu that fished for 42 years before I got her, and I’m looking to gentrify her cabin space while leaving her exterior all workboat. Would it be possible to see some more of her cabin area? Also I really like the design of the helm seat. Be very proud of this one!!
I would have enjoyed more pictures but then there is only so much that you can do with a beautiful boat of this type. Of more interest was to see Maynard Bray mentioned in your write-up. If it be the same man that was a shipwright at Mystic Seaport years ago I had the extreme pleasure of learning many things from someone with great knowledge of wood and the boats that they were built of.
