A great idea, from Mikhail. He fitted her out from the hull, beautifully built by Bert. Became more than a longer Wee Seal: evolved into a whole new Lines Plan, slightly beamier and deeper. The first of seven, so far …. a contrast, from superb all-varnished ‘yachty’ finish, by Wolfgang Friedl in Austria, in Bruynzeel plywood, to the latest: Ewan Kennedy’s handsome minimal-maintenance painted finish ‘Mariota’, planked in Vendia plywood, in Argyll, Scotland. And variations in layout: Ewan’s has just one berth, for mainly single-handed cruising, and a wide-open cabin. She is featured in the new March issue of WaterCraft, #146.

Minor comments on the basic Specs. as presented: interesting to see the obvious minor difference in LOD and LOA; the traditional statistics are simply LOA x LWL x Beam x Draft. (Not counting bowsprits, bumkins, rudders etc.) And the common confusion between Weight and Displacement: 1800 pounds, but which is it?! That is the Weight; Displacement is always slightly hypothetical, being variable, but the design displacement is 2600 pounds (820/1800 kg). Meanwhile, Mikhail (not Michael) is a skilful and experienced sailor, so will be a good source of information about the handling, performance and general ability of the vessel.

I still did not get the numbers quite right – calculator battery dying. Weight is 18oo pounds/ 820 kg. Displacement 2600 pounds / 1180 kg.
Yes it would be nice to have some more built! Your contribution here is a good beginning ….
