17' Salterns Tela (2010) - GUINEVERE

“Guinevere” is inspired by “Tela”, a 1911 Barry Docks “seeker”, a much smaller sister of the Bristol Channel pilot cutters that I race in the UK. She is the best balanced gaff rigged vessel of any size that I have sailed. You can have a beer and sandwich while she sails herself to windward in any conditions! She was the Salterns yard boat at the Southampton boat show in 2002. I shipped her from the UK in 2014 and I believe she is the only Salterns Tela in the US. They have not been built for around 10 years.

Update: Guinevere sold shortly after the 2022 Off Center Harbor’s Worldwide boatshow (thank you) to Capt. Rick Whiting of Sausalito who has brought her to Bristol condition.
