Owner’s Description
Designed by Paul Gartside as a custom design for the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding this is a very versatile skiff. My wife calls her my water motorcycle. I used this vessel for year round commuting across Puget Sound and I liked her so much I kept her as a utility boat when I retired in 2014. I currently use her mainly as a shore boat to reach my moored sailboat and for quick dashes across the sound and general messing around in boats. She is built of strip-planked western red cedar with two veneers of mahogany vacuumed bag over the strip planking all using West System Epoxy. She is very sea worthy and has safety taken me across the Sound in 45 knots of breeze and 5 foot square waves. She will top out near 30 knots with her 90 HP EFI Honda outboard, but I run her at around 16-18 knots as that speed is much more pleasant. She trims well with a couple of very small trim tabs and is an all around great boat and a blast to run.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
