Owner’s Description
This is a very early Cape Cod Bullseye with circular bilge hole and molded rub-rails. This boat was originally part of the Ocean Reef Club fleet in Key Largo FL. It was sold as part of an auction lot, and my father bought it from that purchaser. He suffered a spinal injury before getting her in the water. After many years as a yard ornament/birdbath in Ft. Myers, FL., I retrieved her to Cleveland for restoration. In the process I removed the floor for repairs and found non-standard things like a slug of cement in the bow. I have been sailing her out of the Emerald Necklace Marina on the Rocky River, west of Cleveland since 2012. Originally designed by Francis Herreshoff for use on Buzzard’s Bay, MA she is well suited to Lake Erie conditions, with a full keel. The Bullseye is still in production by Cape Cod Shipbuilding. I pick my weather carefully.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
