16' Goat Island Skiff (2021) - FLY

This boat is a Goat Island Skiff, designed by Michael Storer. I have always dreamt of building a timber boat. At the young age of 57 I finally found no real excuse not to start. I bought plans ply, timber, epoxy and got going. During the 2-year construction time I was nursing my dear father, The finishing details on the boat became my therapy for what we were going through. No hurry to launch. I have been sailing and rowing for nearly two years now and really love this little boat. My father’s wishes were to spread his ashes in the sea whilst drinking a good quality whisky. I’m very proud to say my three brothers and I honoured his wish in my newly finished sailing boat.
