FIDELIO is a 1956 Finisterre centerboard yawl, designed by Sparkman & Stephens as a racer/cruiser. The design is the only three-time winner of the Newport to Bermuda race. FIDELIO was the second Finisterre class built and the first constructed in Europe (for an American owner in Castine, Maine). FIDELIO has sailed under the same name since she launched. She has spent most her life in coastal Maine, although she campaigned successfully for a decade out of Newport, Rhode Island, and had a brief stint in California. FIDELIO is cared for by the skilled shipwrights at Brooklin Boatyard. She is a regular participant in the annual Eggemoggin Reach Regatta and other nearby races.

I saw I think the original Finesterre in Antigua perhaps 30 years ago, dried out on the hard. Not sure how I knew it was Finesterre.
