We purchased Endeavor from the Sheriff of San Juan County in 1987 as two 30 somethings with aspirations and the idea we could refasten the decks and add some doublers. 15 years later we finally finished off a complete refit, including replacing 1/3 of the frames and steel plating on the hull, putting a new shaft on the rudder, building a new centerboard, installing a new engine and all new insulation, wiring, plumbing and systems of every description along with a carefully restored interior.
Now, fast forward fifteen years of contented cruising, our home is often the “prettiest boat in the harbor” in many of the backwater coves we visit. Destinations have ranged from Haida Gwai’i to Patagonia, Iceland to Holland and Galapagos to Outer Hebrides, Seattle to Cape Horn and Newfoundland to Norway and many more.
Endeavor is a sea kindly vessel that was never the weak link in our triad. Whether ticking off sea miles on passage or tucked up in a cove waiting for better weather, she never let us down. Everywhere we went, other sailors would let us know: “Pretty Boat”!

What a good-looking, capable boat! How did you get the Cape Horn photo? Was there another boat rounding at the same time? Or was one of you in the Dinghy??
Wow. What an amazing story for a remarkable boat. You two are awesome!
This is so cool!
Thanks Scott, do you recognize that Autumn-y location on the banner? It’s Linekin Bay!
