Owner’s Description
After years of racing dinghies I met Ben Fuller and was introduced to the world of traditional rowboats and rowing. I started building, first an Adirondack Guideboat then a St Lawrence Skiff. The third one was Elijah Harper, A Delaware Ducker. The ducker is so versatile and fun to use she just stuck. I have cruised her in the Salish Sea, used her to run down the Columbia River from near the head waters in British Columbia and also ran the Bow and Elbow Rivers Eastward out of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta. Because I am interested in build I modified the plans and built her glued lap plywood which made her light enough to car top and for short portages. I like that I can sleep in her anchored out and that she sails well which widens my cruising range. She is the kind of boat that makes you smile and she really earns her varnishing rotation, which is happening now.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
