Dreamer is a 1961 Hallett Lakester, Length of 17.5 feet. Dreamer was custom-built for Dan Carrico by Fred and Kay Hallett Marine, which built race boats in 50s and 60s. Even after Fred Hallett passed away, Kay continued her passion remained an active official for many years in power boat racing.
Originally powered by a Pontiac V8, with approximately 275 horsepower. In 1969 Dan Carrico, commission Fred Hallett to install a 455 Oldsmobile W30 with Big valve heads that he purchased from Tim Morgan speed and Marine that produced 450 HP and at this time a velvet drive transmission was installed. Dan traded Dreamer into Turner Sport and Marine in San Lorenzo, ca. for a new ski boat in 1984. Brendan Schmidt that was working at the establishment purchase Dreamer placed it up for sale. I purchased this boat in 1985 and used it for many family vacations over the years. Dreamer remains all original, plywood decking was painfully repaired and re-varnished. Interior was replaced with exact color and material all gauges and tube radio are original and work properly as they did 1961.
Dreamer remains today as it was when Dan Carrico commissioned Fred and Kay Hallett to build this beautiful boat.
