40 foot Dolores Catherine was built in 1936 as a shrimp boat by Covacevich Shipyard in Biloxi, Mississippi. I found her and restored her as a coastal cruiser, 2008-2014. Restoration involved removing wheelhouse, a recent attempt at a forward cabin, deck, deck beams, and most of the planking down to the rub strake. In addition, the deadwood, shaft log and horn timber were replaced. The original small wheelhouse was donated to the Biloxi Seafood Industry and Maritime Museum. The original owner, who named the boat after his two very young daughters, shrimped the boat for 50 years. For more than 20 years after his death, his daughters had no idea whether the boat had survived. Through amazing good luck, I found Dolores and Catherine and reintroduced them to their restored namesake. Dolores Catherine has participated in quite a few wooden boat shows on the Gulf coast over the past 10 years, and has been very well received in her new form.

Absolutely gorgeous. That rounded house and cabin almost have an old school Core Sound look. Very very nice, all the best to yall!
Beautifully restored boat – great job!
