Microbootlegger – named Corona as my lock-down project. Started in April 2020 and finished (or at least seaworthy – not sure wooden boats are ever finished!) in August 2021, with first (and so far only) voyage on September 1st.
The build was interrupted by winter and second lockdowns (with me and the boat separated). My daughter kept me company and started her strip wood construction with a folding wooden picnic table made from the offcuts from the boat.
Corona was my first boat build and I decided to for a more complex (and in my eyes’, beautiful) plan than the stitch & glue or hybrid plans as I really wasn’t sure I’d build a second. However, I’m already plotting my next build – possibly a stand-up paddleboard?
