Van de Stadt 49 launched in 1961 by Tyler Boat works in England designed by famed Dutch designer E. G. van de Stadt. Among the first large ocean fiberglass yachts and featured in Arthur Beiser’s book “The Proper Yacht” under her original name “Glass Slipper”. John Tyler, the boatyard owner, built the boat for himself to race and cruise in England. It was then acquired by Charles Gordon of Gordon’s Gin and a later owner took it to the West Indies for cruising and charter work. In 1998 Cinderella was cruising in Alaska when the present owner purchased it.
