Owner’s Description
“CHRYSSOPIGI” was designed and strip planking built (2003-2004) for the present owner in Aegina island by Nikos Daroukakis. She is a semi open wooden sailing boat inspired by the traditional small open boat “Hydraiki”, with a spacious flash deck and no accomodation.
The initial thought was to use CHRYSSOPIGI as a day sailer, for fishing and costal camping. Her rig was the lateen sail.
However, after she proved to be a robust, fast and safe boat, we convert to junk rig and sail her many years in the open Aegean sea from Aegina to Cyclades.
CHRYSSOPIGI is published (by Nic. Compton) in Wooden Boat No 243 (April 2015), Classic Boat No 317, chasse-maree No 265.
