Owner’s Description
CAPE COD is a 36′ Covey Island Downeast Lobster YachtBefore moving to Seattle and being renamed Rodster, CAPE COD homeported in Sedgwick Maine as Hollandaise and Gibson Island in the Chesapeake Bay as Nautilus. She cruised along the East Coast from Nova Scotia to Florida and Abacos and many ports along the way.
Rodsters hull is constructed of 1 1/8″Western White Spruce Epoxy glued strip plank. Frames are 2 1/2″ X 1″ Western White Spruce on 16″ centers. Hull sheathing is laid in 2 part epoxy and 2 layers of 11 oz nonwoven eglass. The deck is two layers of 1/2″ Douglas Fir plywood and overlaid with 3/8″ thick strip teak set in epoxy.
Spencer Lincoln considers the hull design to be one of his very best. The hull was used as the plug for what is now the Northern Bay 36. The hull tracks extremely well and is exceptionally flat in a high-speed turn and does not need trim tabs. We run at 13 knots and can top out at 21 if necessary, at 15 knots she burns a very economical 10gph.
She has undergone a complete interior and exterior restoration and is admired by many.
