Owner’s Description
BELLE was designed and built by Daniel Gonneau in Brooklin, Maine at the now Hylan & Brown Boatbuilders in 2011-2012. Her lines and configuration evoke the style and performance of classic daysailers like Joel White’s Haven 12-1/2 and the Cape Cod catboat, but with a modern aesthetic. She sports a 6’ 2″ beam and 8’ cockpit which gives her the stability and room to excel at camp cruising and day sailing alike. Ten-foot oars or a small outboard or trolling motor can easily take over if the wind fails. And with a centerboard and 550 lb. displacement, she is ideal for trailering to your favorite venue. Or just heading out for a leisurely sail. She was featured in Small Boats Magazine in April 2019 — https://smallboatsmonthly.com/article/belle/ — and has won several blue ribbons for design and construction at the Mid Atlantic Small Craft Festival in St. Michaels, Maryland.
