Barralee is a classic Tasmanian Cray boat, built and worked around Hobart, Australia since her launch in 1967. At 58”9’ she is a big girl and beautifullly built of Huon Pine and King Billy Pine, two extraordinary boat building timbers native to Tasmania.
Three years ago, Barralee was retired from cray fishing to enjoy a more relaxed life and lots of love as a family cruiser for coastal passages, activity platform for fishing, diving and just having fun with lots of kids on board.
Built by Ray Kemp for the wild seas and weather of Tasmania, she has had a tough working life but always been well maintained. Now she is transitioning into family life with an on going refit all round but keeping her beautiful lines and on deck configuration. Yes hot water, a flushing toilet and a big tidy up, but still remaining all in all a stunning example of Australian boat building and commercial fishing vessels.
With a Gardner 6l3b and Kabota genset she is extremely reliable and has another 55 years ahead of her in loving care and providing much enjoyment for all on board…
