Owner’s Description
Annella (originally Jalaura) was built by Bernard Wilson in 1956 at Triabunna, Tasmania. She was launched as an open deck cray boat. Made from locally sourced stringy bark planking on blue gum ribs, her dimensions are 27.5 x 9 x 4.1 feet, registered tonnage 6.
Foredeck was eventually raised, boat decked in Huon pine and wheelhouse added. Currently fitted with a 46 bhp Perkins 4.108 4cyl diesel.
Salvaged from a remote east coast beach by Odin Thom of Cygnet, she is now moored at Cornellian Bay near Hobart.
Plans are in place for the removal of the wet well, construction of a half cabin and replacement of the wheelhouse. This will be accomplished by students of the Wooden Boat Centre, in Franklin from April 2022.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
