Lyle Hess cutter Renegade design 24.7 ft – built by Bertram Levy and launched in 1984, She has an oak backbone and frames, Port Orford planking, copper riveted, locust deck beams and teak laid decks. We have sailed her to Hawaii in 1986, Queen Charlottes in 1988 and 4 circumnavigations of Vancouver Island. She is actively sailed and raced in Port Townsend her home berth for 37 years. She is as sound today as the day she was launched.

Well, a year went by, and, although I was at the PTWBF, I missed seeing Able… perhaps she wasn’t there, but it’s more likely I was just too distracted by all the usual… hopefully she’ll be at this year’s show and I’ll make a better effort!!!
