54' Traditional Portugese Mercantel (1994)

MARCANTEL is a traditionally logistics boat of the lagoon of Ria de Aveiro. Built with local pine trees wood. Used to transports merchandizes along the coastal populations of the Ria, like agriculture products, live animals, wine barrels, ceramics, and especially salt. The sun salt production was made in lagoon, the access to islands was only by boat. A special large Mercantel was built for Salt transportation named SALEIRO .
