Owner’s Description
32-foot wooden crabber converted to pleasure. Built in 1960 by Matsumoto Shipyard, North Vancouver, BC.Tacony crabbed off the Fraser River (Sand Heads) in the 60s & 70s.
The Vick brothers (who ran Vancouver’s biggest marine supply store back then) salvaged her from a sand bar and converted her to a pleasure boat.
She is yellow & red cedar on oak ribs with a Mahogany superstructure added by the Vick brothers.
Tacony has the original 453 Detroit which I rebuilt in my carport in 2003 a year after I bought her.
She’s now used to cruise Desolation Sound in the summers.
