t/t Pathfinder was built in 1898 as the tender to the 133′ LOA, Steam Yacht Pathfinder.
Built in Racine, MI in 1896, Pathfinder lived most of her life on the Great Lakes. She spent time in the Canadian Maritimes running rum, but was too slow for the job and returned to Lake Ontario. Ultimately scuttled, Pathfinder lies somewhere on the bottom of Georgian Bay, close to Penetanguishene, ON
After her time on Pathfinder, t/t Pathfinder was owned by the Worts family (Gooderham and Worts Distillery) for many years. When I bought her, she was in Midland, Ontario. We (Epifanes NA Inc.) restored her to her original glory 10 years ago. Currently, she is with me in Lunenburg, NS. She is scheduled for an engine upgrade, from her “probably original” 4 cylinder Grey Marine gasoline inboard engine, and a rewire. she is very sound both above and below the waterline. Ready for another 130 years.
