19' Modified Nielsen Fern Spitzgatter (2019) - MURRELET

Stretched version of Auge Nielsen’s original 18.3′ design for EB White called Fern.

Built of Honduras Mahogony tight seam planks on locust backbone and sawn and steamed locust frames, she is copper riveted and has 1100 lead ballast.

Her rig was modernized to a full batten main with a sail area ratio if 18.. She is fast, agile and extremely handy. She sails herself, holds her speed in the tacks and has won many races in the Port Townsend race event.
