Thank you for the phenomenal insights from your pro photographers. It is a unique specialty. This was an un-expected part of this Classic boat show. FYI, I have a bit of coverage from a Sailing trip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in my photography blog: https://www.perfectphoto.ca/blog/2020/3/vip-sailing-tour-in-puerto-vallarta-banderas-bay-mexico

Sorry we didn’t mention everyone who should be on a list of accomplished yachting photographers. We hope to do something similar next year to include more photographers like Billy who does beautiful work.

What a treat, this has been extraordinary!

When you provide images/prints for clients, what media are using: traditional prints, aluminum, canvas? What do you like personally?

    Amazing stuff! Thanks for sharing!
    Incredible Franco…

I noticed a contrast between everybody’s pictures and some of Alison’s. I particularly like the pictures of boat construction, and the contrast of light and shadows. For me they are different and stand out, not only because they are static rather vs dynamic, but because there theold boatyards around the world are disappearing. What do you prefer to shoot, just out of curiosity?

And thank you to Mr. Mendlowitz for introducing me to the second love of my life, BELLE, which was featured in Wooden Boat Calendar in 2015 and now resides in my garage in winter.

How often do you remove distracting elements in a shot, such as a fender or EPIRB or powerboat in the background in post processing?

Can the photographers discuss their opinions about either framing the original shot versus cropping the image after the fact?

What talented photographers and a great discussion. I’d like to ask how much video work they do as opposed to still photography. Has the percentage of video work changed in recent years?

Great to see such an amazing group of photogs. Have had the pleasure to work with most of them — and appreciate each of their own unique style! Seeing these images — especially now — reminds me of the power of photography to inspire us.

Wow! Some magic shots here. It’s just a matter of being in the right place at the right time, having the right gear, having years of experience to be able to anticipate where and when the good shots will be. Sounds easy if you say it quick. But there’s something else……. well, I think you could call it magic. It’s more than talent. That’s for sure. Yes, that’s it. Magic. Many thanks to those gifted photographers for these images of awe and wonder, excitement and sublime beauty. Wayne
