Owner’s Description
The Kitten Class gaff rigged sloops were designed in 1920 by John Winslow as youth sail training vessels for the Vancouver B.C and Seattle yacht clubs. The Center for Wooden Boats built a replica of this design from plans published in a 1920 Pacific Motorboat Magazine article. Lead by Shipwright Ben Kahn, a series of classes were held over two years for novice boatbuilding students to traditionally construct the vessel. Lucile was launched in late 2020 on the 100 year anniversary of its design. Its maiden sail was the first time in several decades that a Kitten graced the waters of Lake Union in Seattle.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
