1948 20′ Chris-Craft Custom
CC 20-306
366 of this model were built from 1946 to 1949. This was the first of the “blonde” boats, the mahogany simply being bleached and varnished.
The custom is also unique with the double convex transom, curved from port to starboard, and from the top down. Affectionately called a “bubble butt“.
It also has some unique hardware pieces, for instance the forward and aft lifting rings(cleats), and the receiver for the flag staff.
The custom has a unique fold down windshield, that was never featured again.
Her 20 foot length is like a longer wheelbase car, it has a nicer ride and than a shorter hull length boat.
The original six-cylinder engine which was missing, was replaced with a V-8, 100 pounds lighter, and 100 more horsepower!Already a member? Log in herePhotos
