Very nice small boat. Seems to be very well maintained and frequently used by nice people.

Lovely to see a well cared for Drascombe Longboat in Germany. I have a 1972 Drascombe Longboat which was built by Down East Drascombes in Maine USA.
I live in Windsor, Ontario and sail mainly on Lake St.Clair.
Lake St.Clair is about 35 X 45 Km between Lake Huron and Lake Erie. I’ve taken it with me on several camping trips. John S.

        Hello John,

happy to hear from Canada! And thanks a lot for your appreciative words.
Windsor, Ontario, that is a Hockey Town, am I right?
Had the honour and the pleasure to accompany a junior team of the Missisauga Reps on a part of their European Tour, back in the 80´s. Still wear the Maple Leaf button I received as a present on my beanie cap – in cold weather / when sailing.

Yeah, the Drascombe Longboats! They´re really great boats – although PETOYA is our smallest boat up to now, in a way she is giving us the most of … joy and freedom.

Our cruising grounds mainly are the Schlei Fjord, the Kiel Bay in the Western Baltic and the southern Danish Islands, there´s only 20nm open water, then we are in a fantastic archipelago. So, if you ever are planning a Europen Tour, please contact!

Where can I see your boat – is it on the show as well? Up to now I only could find Sharon´s Drascombe(s) from the UK.

When sailing singlehanded I love to do camp cruising as well. I´ll post one or two new pictures about that on PETOYA´s site soon.

One final Question: Down East Drascombes – do they still exist? And are their boats of GRP or is it plywood?

        Stephan
