Harry Bryan designed the Rambler series for fuel efficiency. The long length to beam ratio displacement creates an easily driven hull form that cruises comfortably at 6-7 knots with the cost of fuel and ice for a weekend being about the same. The value and versatility of an open utility launch is hard to overstate, it is a good platform for a committee boat, excellent for fishing, comfortable for sunset cocktail cruises or for those flat calm mornings on the west coast of Florida.
The hull is strip planked with cypress on sawn oak frames which makes an excellent light weigh hull perfect for a boat that will be trailer kept. Low maintenance and operating cost plus the simplicity and durability of an inboard diesel makes for peace of mind and comfortable cruising.

Nice work, Michael. That’s a really fine vessel.
I’ve always like Harry Bryan’s approach, well, to just about everything!
I’m also really intrigued with Malu. You did a great job on the design and build.
Heading to Cedar Key has always been on my bucket list. Seeing your boats whets my appetite again.
I just might have to hook up the trailer and head south!
Love those southern beaches off the waterways, creeks and on the barrier islands. We lived on the SC and GA coasts and enjoyed them a lot.

Yes, Cedar Key is well worth the drive. We’ll be there with one of the boats.
Great — I’ll work on driving down!
