112' Grand Banks Schooner (1925) - ROSEWAY

Built in Massachusetts in 1925, Roseway is one of only six remaining Essex-built Grand Banks fishing schooners. The historic vessel has held a long and distinguished career, including serving as a fishing schooner, a racing yacht, and a windjammer charter vessel. During World War II she served as a pilot ship in Boston, where she guided Allied vessels through the nation’s protective array of marine minefields and submarine nets.

Roseway is now the flagship vessel of World Ocean School, an organization that provides experiential education at sea, empowering students of diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential as responsible, productive, and engaged community members. Programs empower at-risk youths to recognize ways they are capable, resilient, and strong. Curriculum and instruction are delivered to help students cultivate transferable academic, socio-emotional, and career skills.

When she is not being used for educational purposes, Roseway is available for corporate, private, and special events both on board and aside the dock. World Ocean School can accommodate single and multiple-day charter events in and around our home ports of Boston, Massachusetts (summer) and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands (winter).
