21' Stanley Fife-Inspired Cutter (1996) - RESOLUTE
Owner’s Description
Designed by Ralph Stanley and built by Ralph and son Richard after bringing Ralph a copy of WoodenBoat magazine with an article on Vagrant, an 1884 William Fife racing cutter. He added a little beam and less draft for less extreme sailing in the sheltered waters of Southwest Harbor.
Fast and stable, my wife and I sailed her from Portland to Bass Harbor over two September weekends after a summer of sailing in Casco Bay.

Beautiful boat. Looks almost like a plank-on-edge cutter. Never met Ralph Stanley, sorry to say, but he was a legend. Just one question: Do you think the bowsprit is long enough?

That’s a beauty.
We always look for her when we are in Southwest. Beautiful, not that we would expect anything less from Ralph.
Cheers,
Ted and Judy
