Owner’s Description
Kestrel is a Tumlaren, a twenty-square meter sloop designed by Knud Reimers in the mid 1930’s. She was built in Saskatchewan in 1983 by sculptor, David Riome. Following a history of several previous owners, we found and fell in love with her in Boothbay, Maine in 2012. She was subsequently shipped across Canada by truck to her new home in the Pacific Northwest. Although we live in a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Kestrel is moored south of the border at the Semiahmoo Marina in Blaine, Washington. Although she is primarily day-sailed in Semiahmoo Bay, Kestrel has completed a number of cruises in the San Juan Islands, as far south as Friday Harbor.
