Owner’s Description
Our home for the last four years is 56′ STEADFAST, a 1934 William Hand, Jr designed Motorsailer Ketch. After three winters in the Bahamas, we are currently on the hard working toward the completion of an extensive repair and refit in Cambridge, Maryland, USA on the Chesapeake Bay. In May, after recaulking, repainting, rebedding chain plates as well as the new stem, knee, frames & planking (see photos) we will be back on the water.
STEADFAST is an impressive vessel with a unique swordfishing design and varied history from a “Wheeler Playmate” on Long Island Sound to Navy Patrol during WWII to charter boat from the US Virgin Islands to Penobscot Bay, Maine. We hope to return her to Mystic this June and if all goes well, explore Central America, the Caribbean and South America in the next few years.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
