Double-ended cruising yawl, cold molded of Western Red Cedar over a Douglas Fir backbone. Designed by Paul Gartside and built by Jespersen Boat Builders for coastal and offshore cruising. Single cabin with comfortable accommodations for a couple and occasional guests. Cruised extensively along the British Columbia coast and circumnavigated Vancouver Island before an offshore passage to San Francisco. Now berthed in Richmond, California. Photos by Neil Rabinowitz.

Beautiful boat. I am a big fan of Paul’s and divide my time between Inverness, CA and the River Dart, UK. I would love to come and see the boat in Richmond. Paul has my contact information if would be possible. Mark
We’re planning to return to the PNW this summer. Day sailing on the bay doesn’t have the same appeal as extended cruises along the BC Coast. BTW, Paul was working on Diana IV when we first met him. Lovely boat.
I made that half model for Paul after he finished the plans, but before we decided to actually build the boat. I’m glad that he liked it will enough to display.
The description is out of date as far as location. She is now berthed in Port Townsend.
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Definitely a favorite! Well done squared..:-) So nice to see, thanks for the tour!

So much fun to see a fellow Jespersen boat! Thank you for sharing!
I have loved following Celeste’s adventures. Just awesome!
Will you be keeping her in SF Bay?

Re SF Bay as a cruising ground: I’ve sailed there a few times racing small boats and aboard a 50′ Rhodes yawl and understand what you mean.
I remember seeing the half model of yours on Paul’s boatshop wall when I went to Nova Scotia to get Diana IV!

Dave, thanks for putting up the link to the video. I had forgotten what a wonderfully told story is it about how La Vie En Rose came to be.
