Owner’s Description
Coquina replica of marine plywood, built 2000, restored 2024. This was the first plywood version of Herreshoff’s Coquina design, and one of the first replicas built period — before Doug Hylan and Maynard Bray devised their plans. After acquiring her in 2022 I fixed her damaged hull, put in new thwarts, and added drainage and a bilge pump, but otherwise she is as Joe Youcha and the Alexandria Seaport Foundation students built her. She appeared in Maynard’s 2005 article in Wooden Boat, being sailed by him after he had sorted her rigging. After the restoration I got him back on board for a short sail from Bray’s Narrows!Already a member? Log in herePhotos
