Owner’s Description
1937 Mahogany Gentleman’s Cabin Cruiser. Built on the Thames at Kingston, by Boats and Cars (Kingston) Limited. Completely rebuilt over 2.5 years and relaunched in 2023. Winner of 4 awards at the Traditional Boat Festival in Henley, including best structural restoration, best electric boat, and best in show 2023. Winner of best retrofit electric boat at the Gustave Trouble awards 2023. Lockheed was discovered as a bare hull in a field, where she’d sat for around 12 years. She’s been restored with a new cabin and wheelhouse, and converted to Electric propulsion for her life on the Thames as a Weekender. She has a battery capacity of 93.4kwh and twin 10kw electric steerable pod drives. With an operational run time of 20hrs at 75% of hull speed, with all services running. She is virtually silent in operation, and draws a crowd wherever she goes. Lockheed was featured in MotorBoat Magazine in July 1937. The half-hull model with the neck of the original bottle of champagne used at launch is still with her.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
