Owner’s Description
A Rhodes 36 foot sloop built for the commodore of the Corinthian Yacht Club in Chicago in 1939. 1 1/4″ Honduras mahogany on 1 7/8″ square white oak frames. 6000 lb iron external ballast. Hollow Sitka spars, originally built by E.S. Burman Co. 50 foot mast. Originally cutter rigged with 7/8 fractional rig. 6-year refit completed in 2023 to replace canvas deck with marine plywood covered in Dynel and make structural repairs. Builder raced and cruised NIRVANA extensively on Lake Michigan. She was trucked to Maine in 1999. Mainsail still marked with original D 43 for racing.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
