1946 16′ Garwood Ensign

My wife is Vietnamese and her last name is Ngo (pronounced “No”). “Ngo Said Yes” is a play on her saying “yes” to marrying me, “yes” to having an old wooden boat (with her name on it), and “yes” to many other things.

“Black Rock City, NV” is a location in Northern Nevada where an annual event called “Burning Man” is held; I have been many times to Burning
Man and viewed showing it as the boat’s home port as a small way to stay connected.

Ngo Said Yes has won numerous awards at boating events including Eagle Mountain Classic Boat Club (2016) – Best of Show, Keels & Wheels Concours D ’Elegance: 2nd Place Open Utility Class (2018) and Mayor’s Choice Award (2019), and Heartland Classics Mahogany Chrome Boat Show (2018/2019) – Gold Award Winner. Ngo Said Yes was also was the subject in two Brass Bell articles on gold leaf lettering and varnishing. Myers was also interviewed on CBS Sports Magnificent Machines.
